Qualifications
Required
Active Florida Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) license
Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential or interest in pursuing certification
Graduate of an accredited PT or OT program (BSPT/MPT/DPT for PTs, BSOT/MOT/OTD for OTs)
Strong knowledge of hand, wrist, and upper extremity rehabilitation, including post-surgical and orthopedic conditions
Excellent patient assessment, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary outpatient team
CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain)
Preferred
Experience in outpatient hand, orthopedic, or post-surgical rehabilitation
Experience with manual therapy, splinting, or adaptive equipment
Experience using EMR systems
Experience with aquatic therapy or lymphedema management
About the Role
As a Physical or Occupational Therapist Certified Hand Therapist, you will provide specialized outpatient care for patients recovering from hand, wrist, and upper extremity injuries or surgeries. You will evaluate functional limitations, design individualized therapy plans, and deliver hands-on interventions including manual therapy, splinting, and functional rehabilitation.
Therapy services offered include:
Orthopedic and post-surgical hand/wrist/upper extremity rehabilitation
Manual therapy and splint fabrication
Aquatic therapy to enhance mobility and functional recovery
Lymphedema management for upper extremities as needed
Pelvic health therapy referrals (optional)

Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive hand and upper extremity evaluations including strength, ROM, functional use, and post-surgical recovery
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, splinting, and ADL/fine motor training
Track patient progress and document accurately in EMR systems
Educate patients and families on home programs, injury prevention, and long-term hand health
Collaborate with physicians, PTs, OTs, and other interdisciplinary team members
Maintain a safe, organized, and professional outpatient clinic environment
