Job DescriptionThe Marin City Health & Wellness Center Certified Enrollment Counselor is responsible for the education of the community and County through various events and forums about the Affordable Care Act in general and more specifically services that they may qualify for. The Certified Enrollment Counselor also enrolls applicants into the Covered California and Medi-Cal programs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccess and address barriers to care real or perceived to signing up for Medi-Cal CMSP Path2Health Sliding Scale CCS Cal-Fresh Healthy Kids and Partnership Health PlanSan Francisco Health Plan for our patientsPlan and facilitate county-wide educational events to educate the public about the Affordable Care ActAssess which current clinic patients may be eligible for the ACA or Medi-Cal expansion via the Sliding Fee Scale historical informationEnroll applicants into the Affordable Care Act via the Covered California website.Enroll applicants into Medi-Cal via the Medi-Cal websiteAttend community events and seminars to provide information on various state funded insurance plans and programs as well as health education meetingsBuild and retain networks with other community agencies and outreach workersEnsure the confidentiality of all applications records and any information received in written oral or other formsAnswer phone calls and questions pertaining to the application or other issues and refer applicants to the proper department or resource agencyRefer applicants when necessary to the county Department of Social Services if they need more assistance with complex issues or other programsCase management of difficult or urgent casesData entry of all applications or encounters with patients in Oasis InsightPunctuality regular and reliable attendancePerforms other duties as directed developed or assignedSupervisory Responsibility NAQualification Requirements Education andor ExperienceHigh School GraduateCertification as an Enrollment Counselor through the Affordable Care ActAbility to work independently with little or no supervision.
