We are seeking a Certified Echocardiography Technician / Medical Assistant to support cardiovascular diagnostic services within a cardiology clinic setting. This dual-role position involves performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring cardiovascular conditions while also supporting clinical operations as a Medical Assistant when echocardiography services are not being performed. The role requires strong technical imaging skills, patient care expertise, and the ability to maintain efficient clinical workflows.
" Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) according to established protocols
" Obtain high-quality cardiac ultrasound images for physician interpretation
" Perform 2D, M-mode, Doppler, and Color Flow Doppler imaging
" Accurately measure and document cardiac structures and functional findings
" Prepare and position patients for echocardiography procedures while ensuring comfort and safety
" Assist physicians during stress echocardiography procedures when required
" Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure proper calibration and quality control
" Document diagnostic studies within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
" Follow American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) imaging standards and regulatory requirements
" Support patient preparation and clinical operations when imaging procedures are not being performed
" Record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, weight, and oxygen saturation
" Perform EKGs and assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures
" Maintain exam room readiness and clinical supply inventory
" Assist with patient intake, documentation, and medication reconciliation
" Support patient education and clinic workflow efficiency while maintaining infection control protocols
" Certification in Echocardiography such as RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer), RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer), or CCI Certification
" Completion of an accredited Echocardiography program
" Current BLS certification
" Active Radiologic Technologist license in the state of Maryland
" Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, pathology, and echocardiography imaging techniques
" Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
" Strong interpersonal, patient communication, and documentation skills
