Position Title: CERTIFIED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIANStatus: Full-TimeSalary: $23.00 Per HourHours: 2:45pm - 10:45pm; Including Weekends Location: Abraxas South Mountain, Leadership Development ProgramNow hiring Certified Behavioral Health Technician at South Mountain Youth Center.Abraxas South Mountain is located in Franklin County on Pennsylvania Route 233 between Gettysburg and Chambersburg and is surrounded by the rolling hills and beautiful woodlands of south-central Pennsylvania's Michaux State Forest.Position PurposeThe Certified Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct, one-to-one and group behavioral health services to youth with emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric disorders. The BHT implements behavior support and treatment plans under the supervision of licensed or credentialed clinical staff in accordance with Pennsylvania regulations, program policies, and evidence-based practices.RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:Implements individualized behavior support plans, treatment goals, and skill-building interventions as written by the supervising clinician.Provides structured behavioral interventions to reduce maladaptive behaviors and increase positive, adaptive skills.Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and structured environment at all times.Uses trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and culturally responsive approaches.Accurately observes and documents client behaviors, progress, and responses to interventions.Collects and documents behavioral data in accordance with program and regulatory standards.Will be included in daily staffing ratio to assist in effective programming for all youth.Completes daily notes, incident reports, and other required documentation within required timeframes.Utilize approved crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.Follows all safety protocols related to self-harm, aggression, and behavioral escalation.Reports safety concerns, incidents, or changes in client status immediately to supervisory/leadership staff.Participates in treatment team meetings, supervision, and required trainings.Supports family engagement as directed by the treatment team.Maintains client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and agency policies.Follows all Pennsylvania mandated reporter requirements.Maintains active certification, clearances, and required ongoing training.Job Qualifications and CompetenciesJob QualificationsAt least twenty-one (21) years of ageCriminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI)Non-communicable diseases physical examValid driver’s license from employee’s state of residenceValid registered vehicle insuranceEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree and/or associate’s degree with one of the following certifications below:Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)Board-Certified Autism Technician (BCAT)BCABA (Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst)Completion of a minimum 40-hour behavioral health/RBT-aligned trainingOr minimum 2 years of documented behavioral health experience with required trainingJob CompetenciesEffective Communication: Ability to clearly and respectfully communicate with residents, families, staff, and external agencies.
