Position: Athletic Trainer is for Mount Vernon City Schools
Variable Hours depending on the activity
JOB SUMMARY
- Treatment of athletes of all ages, ability and sports. Prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of physical injuries as well as addressing emotional and mental aspects of injuries. Skilled in treatment of sprains, strains, contusions, abrasions, lacerations, dislocations, various chronic injuries, and fractures.
- Measure, examine, analyze and/or provide instruction to determine or evaluate the components of physical fitness to healthy and/or (ill health) diseased individuals.
- To assist in improving the components of physical fitness and promoting the prevention of disease and disability. Establish communications with athletic director, school employees, coaches, parents and medical professionals.
- Assists with the development and organization of individual and group rehabilitation programs.
- The Athletic Trainer is responsible for coordinating all on-site sports medicine coverage, taping, pre-season and post season physical screenings, injury clinics, athletic training room management and budgeting of training supplies.
- Responsible for being knowledgeable of standard of practice for the practice of Athletic Training in a school and outpatient rehabilitation setting and regulations established by the payers.
- Demonstrates critical thinking to assure the delivery of safe, quality care to adolescents, and adult clients.
- Responsible for excelling in courteous and respectful customer service at all times to every customer. Assures the safety of all customers
- Effectively communicates with all customers.
- Effectively communicates & collaborates with other healthcare team members and between intra/inter departments, adheres to organizational policy and procedures, abides by regulatory/accrediting body requirements and professional practice standards.
- Assists with the daily operations and collecting statistics within affiliate strength and conditioning program.
- Responsible for completing in a timely manner, all assigned tasks and duties utilizing multi-tasking skills. Responsible for assuring confidentiality of customer information and departmental information.
Requirements Include
- Graduate of accredited program for Athletic Trainers, Bachelors of Athletic Training or equivalent degree required.
- Certified Athletic Trainer required
- Current CPR certificate required
