Behavioral Health Center
The Behavioral Health Center at the Rescue Mission of Trenton is a state-licensed addiction treatment facility offering residential, halfway house, and outpatient services.
We provide compassionate, recovery-focused care for individuals facing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our integrated approach supports whole-person recovery through:
• Individual and group counseling
• Peer recovery support
• Medical and mental health services
• Medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
• Recovery meetings and structured programming
• Life skills development
• Employment readiness and reentry support
Our goal is to help individuals build the skills, confidence, and stability needed for lasting recovery and successful reintegration into the community.

Position Overview
As a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), you will provide direct clinical and case management services to residents in a structured recovery environment. You will assess needs, develop and implement treatment plans, facilitate counseling sessions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support long-term recovery outcomes.
This role is ideal for a compassionate, clinically grounded professional who is motivated by meaningful, hands-on impact in behavioral health and substance use treatment.

What You’ll Do (High-Impact Clinical Work)
• Conduct assessments to identify resident needs, strengths, and recovery goals
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment and aftercare plans
• Provide individual and group counseling services
• Serve as case manager for assigned residents
• Coordinate care with external partners (DOC, Parole, Drug Court, and other agencies)
• Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Facilitate participation in Life Skills and recovery support programs
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
• Participate in clinical supervision, case conferences, and team meetings
• Collaborate with internal staff and external providers to ensure continuity of care

What We’re Looking For
Required
• Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
• Valid driver’s license
Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
• 1–2 years of experience in substance use or behavioral health treatment
Skills & Competencies
• Strong understanding of substance use disorders and recovery models
• Experience with assessments, case management, and crisis intervention
• Familiarity with criminal justice and behavioral health systems
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse, high-need populations
