The Board of Commissioners of Michigan Public Power Agency (MPPA) has authorized the launch of a comprehensive search to identify MPPA’s next Chief Executive Officer after the announcement of the current CEO's retirement in spring 2027. MPPA is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader in the electric power industry who will build on the organization’s strong foundation and help guide its next chapter of strategic growth and member service.
The next CEO will:
Provide strategic leadership and vision aligned with the organization’s mission and long-term goals
Partner closely with the Board of Commissioners and executive team
Drive operational excellence and organizational performance
Provide financial stewardship and risk management
Maintain and enhance stakeholder relationships, including members, partners, regulators, legislators, and industry peers
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree specializing in Business, Finance, or Engineering or equivalent related field; Master's Degree preferred
Seven (7) years progressively responsible leadership experience including at least four (4) years in a senior leadership role serving and balancing the needs of multiple internal/external stakeholders
Five (5) years of experience setting strategic priorities while leading a team to move initiatives from concept to completion
Ten (10) years of experience in the Electric Industry and/or competitive wholesale energy markets
