Job Details:
Our Central Sterile Technician will:
- Be responsible for decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of reusable instrumentation and equipment according to established department policies and procedures.
- Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination.
- Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality.
- Identify malfunctioning items, records related information, and promptly notify supervisor or biomedical engineer.
- Communicate with perioperative staff regarding related instrument needs.
- Transport sterile supplies to assigned surgical and clinical locations.
- Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels.
- Perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.
- Document and maintain records of daily activities according to department policies and procedures.
- Adhere to AORN, AAMI and Joint Commission standards (e.g. biological, chemical and mechanical monitoring) in the performance of duties.
What you'll bring:
- Prior experience processing surgical instruments/Central Sterile experience preferred
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Certification: CRCST required
- Will consider candidates without certification, however, certification must be completed within 1 year of employment
Posted Salary Range:
USD $30.51 - USD $38.14 /Hr.
