Description:
Sterile Processing Technician Assistant
Join our Sterile Processing team and play a key role in supporting safe, high-quality patient care. This position is responsible for assisting with the decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment under the supervision of Sterile Processing Leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process instruments in the decontamination area.
- Load and unload instrument washers and cart washers.
- Restock department workstations and supplies.
- Assemble, inspect, and organize instrument trays and equipment.
- Store and distribute sterile instruments and supplies to clinical departments.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and department procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Understanding of infection control practices and workflows.
- Ability to handle sensitive instruments with attention to detail.
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and stretch throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to cleaning agents, disinfectants, and biohazard materials.
