Centerless Grinding Setup Operator

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes ongoing and new hire training for Centerless Grind Operators
  • Provides support to ensure quality production of products, and moves through the department efficiently
  • Collaborating with Engineers to assess how a job should run on a machine
  • Fields interviews for new hires and prospects as needed
  • Manages discipline and coaching for Centerless Grind Operators
  • Completes reviews and job performance documentation for Centerless Grind Operators
  • Sets up and operates Centerless Grinding Machines, when necessary
  • Works directly with scheduler on the IQMS
  • Oversees the Centerless Grind Operators to ensure their machine area is clean, including floor, machine, and workstation
  • Creates and troubleshoots Centerless Grinding programs, jobs, tooling, and documentation with the Engineering Department
  • Monitors all setups to ensure compliance and accuracy in relation to the setup procedures
  • Follows all internal, OSHA, and outside agency safety regulations
  • Monitors production of task in/task out times and daily production activity
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Centerless Grinding Setup Operator - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 2-3 years' experience with Centerless Grinding Machines
  • Able to make good decisions on which materials to use, how to solve the problem and if outside help is needed
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment and handle multi-tasks

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
