Youth Enrichment Center Child Care Aide

Job Goal: Plan, supervise, and implement daily programs for children in accordance with Youth Enrichment Program policies and philosophy.

Job Type: ClassifiedJob Class Code: 7322Position Type: HourlyReports to: Director School Day CareTerms of Employment: For full time employees,compensation will be based on 191- contract days and the board-approved 105 salary schedule. Part-time are on the 105 schedule with varying hours. Seasonal day care employees are on the 105 schedule with varying hours. Seasonal employee contracts are for one year increments unless employment is extended by the director of the daycare.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma.
  • Two years' experience in child care is desired.
  • Push, pull or lift 40 pounds; kneel and reach above your head.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Assure the safety and wellbeing of children under supervision.
  • Treat all children with dignity and respect, creating a safe environment that promotes positive behavior.
  • Participate in childcare, actively engaging with students by circulating, assisting, and interacting.
  • Assist medical needs as necessary as determined by physician or District Nurse.
  • Assist children with daily routines and help with their personal needs such as clothing, lunch, snack and cleanup routines.
  • Assist in cleaning and straightening of the childcare room to maintain the appearance of the room, including furniture and equipment.
  • Implement instructional procedures and other instructions from the Director.
  • Support positive parent/staff relationships by communicating with the director about a child's progress and needs.
  • Assists in the planning and supervision of activities that promote positive child development.
  • Respond to student misbehavior as laid out by the director and report any unsafe behavior directly to the director.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and professional development.
  • Abide by all Oldham County Board of Education policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of School Child Care or Principal.
