Tennessee State University Center of Excellence Learning Sciences invites applications for the position of Center Manager. The ideal candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:

• Ensure classrooms are meeting all guidelines which govern EHS including Head Start Performance Standards, Child Care Licensing Standards, as well as meet ITERS, ECERS, FCCERS, and NAEYC Accreditation Standards. • Schedule staffing patterns in compliance with federal Head Start Performance Standards. • Determine, define, and assign duties for teaching staff and substitutes. • Ensure teaching staff are completing weekly lesson plans and anecdotal notes. • Collaborate with Disabilities Coordinator for any referrals to TEIS. • Monitor the implementation of Creative Curriculum in the classroom and provide guidance as needed. • Identify and prioritize materials and equipment needed in classrooms and playground. • Provide support with new classroom set-up. • Order supplies for classrooms and ensure supplies used in all classrooms are developmentally appropriate. • Ensure classroom schedule meets DHS and OHS regulations. • Ensure planning is individualized for all children. • To assist with and monitor the overall completion of screenings and assessments. • Assure that all children and families with special needs receive accommodations in accordance with ADA, IDEA, Part C, LEA, and Head Start Performance Standards. • Ensure parent-teacher conferences and educational home visits occur according to the guidelines set forth by the Early ChildhoodParent InvolvementDisabilities Coordinator. • Follow health regulations and universal precautions in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and Child Care Licensing. • Maintain accurate USDA verification of menus, meal service, and meal counts. • Ensure required health and nutrition screenings are complete and that follow-ups occur according to procedures. • Participate in monthly evacuation drills and be knowledgeable of the emergency plan of his/her center. • Complete and receive certification in First Aid and Infant CPR as scheduled by the HealthNutritionTransportation Coordinator. • Prepare and submit purchase requisitions to supervisor as needed. • Submit work order form to central office when repairs are needed. • Schedule and monitor evacuation procedures as directed by the HealthNutritionTransportation Coordinator. • Provide necessary support to staff during the DHS 3-Star Rating System Assessment preparation process. • Ensure home visits and parent conferences occur as required and are used to discuss the childs individual development and progress. • Serve as the agency contact person for DHS Child Care Licensing, State Fire Marshal, and the County Environmentalist, insuring availability of all related licensing requirements and assuring that all standards have been met.

Minimum Qualifications ----------------------

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education management or closely related field required. • Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education management or closely related field preferred. • Two years of successfully evaluated classroom teacher experience required. • Experience in an infant-toddler classroom preferred. • One year of program supervisory experience required.
