We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Inpatient Center Director to lead program operations and clinical excellence for a Behavioral Health Organization. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a seasoned behavioral health professional who thrives at the intersection of clinical care, operations, and strategic growth.
About the Role
The Center Director will oversee the full scope of inpatient program operations, ensuring delivery of high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered care. This role serves as the key liaison between hospital leadership, program staff, and external stakeholders, while driving performance, staff development, and program innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and administrative oversight of inpatient behavioral health services
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (state, federal, Medicaid/Medicare, and accreditation standards)
- Manage program budget, monitor expenses, and optimize operational efficiency
- Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary staff, including hiring, performance management, and training
- Oversee clinical service delivery, ensuring best practices and high-quality patient outcomes
- Partner with leadership to drive strategic planning, program development, and community engagement
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in alignment with regulatory standards
Ideal Candidate
- Strong background in mental health and/or substance use treatment
- Proven leadership experience in an inpatient or hospital setting
- Skilled in balancing clinical excellence with operational and financial performance
- Exceptional communication, team-building, and relationship management skills
- Confident decision-maker with strong critical thinking and crisis management abilities
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field (preferred)
- Licensed clinician (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.) strongly preferred
- OR Bachelor’s/MBA/RN with 5–10+ years of leadership experience in behavioral health
- Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting
- Hospital administration experience highly preferred
