Position Summary

We are seeking a fun, enthusiastic, and reliable Center Assistant to support our teachers and inspire students at least two afternoons per week. The Center Assistant helps maintain an engaging, organized learning environment and demonstrates a commitment to treating every student — including those with special needs — with kindness, dignity, and respect.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with learning activities, hands-on materials, and lesson prep.
• Distribute, collect, and reshelve instructional materials and manipulatives.
• Operate and restock the Motivation Station (reward store).
• Lead Transition Time activities (short games/activities between instructional hours).
• Support safe student arrival and departure procedures.
• Complete light office tasks (filing, attendance tracking, assembling info folders) and light tidying/cleaning.
• Communicate professionally with teachers, students, and families; escalate concerns to teaching staff and/or Center Director as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children (required).
• Reliable, punctual, and able to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills; patient, kind, and culturally responsive.
• Comfortable leading brief group activities and managing small student interactions.
• Background check clearance.
• Interest in or pursuing a career in education is a plus!
