Job Title CE Student Course Assistant Department Shiley School of Engineering Office Administration Terms and Hours Varying hours; hours worked will be dependent on the time needed to assist faculty, but not to exceed 4 hours per day or 20 hours per week. This position is for students who will be either:

• GRADERS: grading work for selected civil engineering courses, or
• LAB ASSISTANTS: working in a lab course to support the student learning experience

Core Duties

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Grading:

• Support your assigned faculty member with grading of assignments, homework, and exams
• Handle student documents with confidentiality and discretion
• Communicate with faculty member(s) on grading parameters, requirements, and deadlines
• Meet faculty timelines for grading work
• Other relevant duties as assigned

Lab Assistant:

• Support the students during lab periods
• Handle student challenges with confidentiality and discretion
• Communicate with faculty member(s) on student support needs, issues needing attention
• Consistent attendance to provide the support to the Lab students
• Other relevant duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must have completed the course they will be grading or assisting with an A or B passing grade.
• Student must be a sophomore, junior, or senior in good standing.
