The Vac Truck Operator plays a critical role in cleaning and maintaining underground utility systems across the Kansas City metro area and surrounding regions. This position requires hands-on operation of jetter/vacuum combo trucks and is not solely a CDL driving role. Full-time, with travel up to 30% and overtime available.

Key Responsibilities - Vac Truck Operator
Drive Class B CDL-required equipment to and from project sites across the Kansas City region
Operate jetter/vacuum combo trucks to clean underground utility systems in preparation for inspection
Follow all worksite safety protocols and maintain compliance with applicable DOT regulations, including accurate log entries
Monitor vehicle condition and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs as needed
Adhere to all site safety standards on every project assignment
Qualifications - Vac Truck Operator
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum Class B CDL license; tankers endorsement preferred
Experience operating pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, or electrical equipment
Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time, including potential overnight stays
Safety certifications preferred: OSHA 10-Hour, confined space entry, CPR/First Aid
Preferred Qualifications - Combo Truck Operator
Prior experience as a Jetter Operator, Vacuum Truck Operator, or Sewer Cleaner
Background as a Utility Locator, Field Technician, or Sewer Inspector
Combo Truck Operator or CDL Equipment Operator experience in field service environments
Familiarity with underground utility systems, municipal infrastructure, or sewer systems
All candidates with an active Class B CDL are encouraged to apply regardless of direct experience
Physical Requirements - Vac Truck Operator
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform sustained physical labor in outdoor environments
Extended periods of standing, bending, and working in confined or restricted spaces required
Exposure to varying weather conditions and outdoor job sites is expected
Travel up to 30% required; overnight stays may be necessary depending on project location
Shift work and overtime may be required based on project scheduling and operational demands
