The basic function of the CDL Driver is to safely haul equipment and construction material to and from job sites. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor.
Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
License/Certification: Valid CDL/Driver's License. (Ohio)
Experience: Three or more years of on-the-job experience handling tractor trailers/low-boys, loaded and on the road.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
• Must be detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking. • Good verbal communication skills. • Have complete knowledge of Ohio Highway Laws and Regulations. • Must have a working knowledge of Ohio road permit systems. • Must be competent in restraining loads safely and effectively.
Physical: Must be physically able to lift up to 100lbs and perform considerable stooping, kneeling, and digging. Must have a full range of body movements including use of hands and ability to operate heavy-duty site excavation and development equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage daily hauling activities Maximize move schedule productivity Safely enter and exit construction sites Inspect truck, chains, binders, and loads before and after each move Anticipate road and construction site hazards Ability to recognize and deal with priorities Proper care and use of hand tools. Manage over-the-road safety Keep vehicles clean and organized Accurate and timely completion of all paperwork Perform any other duties from time to time as may be assigned by the Operations Supervisor
Working Conditions
This position requires extensive physical activities working outdoors in all types of weather conditions at residential and commercial construction sites. At times, the employee may have to work in constrained areas. The employee may be required to drive company vehicles to project sites located within a 120-mile radius of the company offices. Job requires working with and around heavy-duty site excavation and development equipment.
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break (unpaid). Start time may vary due to the needs of the company.
