Position Overview
The CDL Truck Driver will work hand in hand with the Trucking Manager to determine the prime schedule in transporting equipment and/or materials to and from various job locations. The ideal candidate is familiar with paving operations in heavy highways, keeps safety at the forefront, values dependability and reliability, can work independently with exemplary work ethic, and is an experienced CDL truck driver with a valid class B or A license.
Key Responsibilities
Transport equipment and/or materials to various job locations.
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
Performs daily preventative maintenance, record and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.
Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Familiarity with Texas area and roadways
Understands the complexities of the trucking and asphalt industries
Complete trip tickets and paperwork
Utilize phone and apps to track start and end time and travel
Keeping the vehicle clean and fitting company standards
Carries out daily preventative maintenance, records, and inspection on vehicles to include fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking and adding fluids as needed.
Performs and logs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Qualifications
CDL (Texas Class A or Class B CDL Driver's License) with clean record required
Must meet DOT employment requirements
All potential candidates must submit to and have a clear record through the FMCSA Clearinghouse
Minimum of 2 years experience
Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
Must be positive, friendly, and professional.
Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.
Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety policy, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Entry Level Position
High School Diploma or GED but not required
Knowledge of how the vehicles operate
Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment, and an understanding of operations and safety requirements is preferred
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, a plus
Working Conditions
Drivers may work at various locations, including construction sites, mines, and other heavy equipment operations.
Employees must have the ability to perform sustained and vigorous activities in a variety of environments, temperatures, and weather conditions, which could include but not be limited to inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Exposure to grease, oils, and lubricants.
Be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required.
Travel may be required as our operations span throughout Texas.
Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
Proper PPE is required at all times.
