Position Overview

We are onboarding CDL-A Owner Operators with refrigerated equipment to support temperature-controlled freight operations throughout California and nationwide lanes. This role is designed for drivers who understand the requirements of perishable freight and prefer to operate independently with flexibility.

Drivers maintain control over schedules, routes, and load selection while ensuring proper handling of temperature-sensitive shipments.

Freight & Operating Conditions

Refrigerated freight may include food-grade products, produce, pharmaceuticals, and other temperature-sensitive goods. Drivers are responsible for maintaining proper temperature settings and monitoring equipment performance during transit.

Freight volume varies based on seasonality, regional demand, and equipment availability.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CDL-A vehicle in compliance with DOT regulations
  • Transport temperature-controlled freight safely
  • Monitor reefer unit operation and temperature settings
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation (ELD compliance)
  • Perform inspections on truck and refrigeration unit
  • Meet pickup and delivery schedules
  • Provide communication updates when required

Requirements

  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Refrigerated trailer in DOT-compliant condition
  • Understanding of temperature-controlled freight handling
  • Active cargo and liability insurance
  • Acceptable safety and driving history
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Work Structure

This is a full time (1099) role. Drivers are responsible for all operational costs including fuel, reefer fuel, maintenance, and insurance.

Freight availability and earnings vary depending on market demand and driver participation.
