CCSNH Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Curriculum Specialist

General Summary: Under the RHT Grant Manager, the RHT Curriculum Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and alignment of curriculum and training models under the Rural Healthcare Transformation (RHT) grant.This position works collaboratively with CCSNH faculty, academic leadership, and workforce partners to develop relevant, responsive, and innovative curriculum, including related technical instruction (RTI), pre-apprenticeship programming, and short-term training models that support healthcare career pathways and address regional workforce needs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with faculty, department chairs, and academic leadership across CCSNH colleges to develop, adapt, and align healthcare curriculum and training programs with workforce needs.
  • Designs and develops related technical instruction (RTI) to support work-based learning models, including Registered Apprenticeship and other earn-and-learn strategies.
  • Identifies gaps in existing curriculum and programming and develops new training solutions, including:
  • Short-term training programs and bootcamps
  • Pre-apprenticeship curriculum
  • Bridge programs to support entry into healthcare pathways
  • Stackable and credit-bearing learning opportunities
  • Works with employer partners and RHT staff to ensure curriculum aligns with industry needs, credential requirements, and evolving healthcare practices, particularly in rural settings.
  • Supports the integration of work-based learning and academic instruction, ensuring alignment between classroom training and on-the-job competencies.
  • Facilitates cross-college collaboration to promote consistency, scalability, and sharing of best practices in curriculum design and delivery.
  • Assists faculty and program staff in adapting curriculum to meet the needs of diverse and underserved populations, including those entering healthcare pathways for the first time.
  • Develops and documents curriculum frameworks, training materials, and instructional resources for use across CCSNH and partner organizations.
  • Works closely with Workforce Development Offices and RHT staff to align curriculum with program implementation, recruitment, and participant success strategies.
  • Supports the development of flexible and innovative delivery models, including hybrid, accelerated, and competency-based approaches.
  • Participates in evaluation and continuous improvement efforts by incorporating feedback from students, faculty, and employers into curriculum design.
  • Assists with documentation and reporting related to curriculum development and program outcomes as required by the RHT grant.
  • Complies with all college, system, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in Education, Healthcare, Workforce Development, Instructional Design, or a related field.

Experience: Four (4) years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, teaching, or workforce training, preferably within healthcare or postsecondary education settings.

License/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License or access to statewide transportation.

Additional Desired Qualifications: Project management skills including the ability to define projects, prioritize and manage multiple projects, measure and evaluate progress and outcomes, and meet timelines while producing quality work. Working knowledge of data management and strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity. Measure and evaluate progress and outcomes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in the use of technology, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other graphic presentation software. Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, recommend and implement solutions in a timely fashion. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced grant environment. Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and systems. High level of discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. Ability to evaluate and analyze program effectiveness and resource utilization. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in the performance of duties. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by management.
