As a CBRF Resident Assistant you will providesupport to residents and help with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, socialization and other support as needed based on resident specific needs
Responsibilities:
- Help residents with daily living, including using the toilet, bathing, washing, dressing, laundry, cleaning, cooking, and serving food
- Assist with other tasks such as recreational and social activities for residents
- Provide physical assistance to residents who have limited mobility by helping them walk or transporting them in wheelchairs
- Helping residents maintain independence, promoting dignity and physical safety of each resident
- Engaging residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, greeting visitors, and complete documentation of care and assistance that transpired during their shift
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with Residents, management, and co-workers
- Follow company dress code, caregiver’s misconduct, and attendance policy
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Reliable and dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to make independent decisions without supervision
- Ability to interact tactfully with residents and family members, team members and general public
- Ability to communicate directions to all levels of team members, using verbal and written English language skills
- Possesses good character and displays high degree of personal integrity. Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults.
- Be able to recognize change in condition of a resident and report immediately to management
Education and Experience:
- Must have the following CBRF certifications verifiable through the Wisconsin Training Registry: Standard Precautions, Fire Safety, First Aid & Choking, Medication Administration & Management
- Previous experience working with residential care, required
Work Environment:
- Works throughout the residential home
- Work is generally performed indoors in an environmentally controlled building
- Subject to frequent interruptions
- Potential for exposure to infectious organisms, blood and other body fluids, other hazardous waste materials
- High level of interaction with residents, personnel, visitors, other staff members
- Subject to emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors at times
Requirements:
- Able to stand and walk often during 8- or 12-hour shift, required
- Able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed
- Able to kneel, bend, squat, climb, and reach multiple times per shift, required
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Minimum 18 yrs old, required
- Reliable transportation, required
- Able to pass local and national criminal and caregiver background screens

Work Location: In-person
Shift & Schedule: Since assisted living homes provide 24-hour care to residents, at times Resident Assistants may need to be flexible and work irregular hours if additional coverage during overnight hours, holidays or weekends is needed. Resident Assistants may be asked to work at more than one facility if needed over one shift. Reliable transportation is required.
