Job Title: Cath Lab RN
Status: Full Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

Catheterization Lab Department
The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to individuals undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. This role includes assessing patients before, during, and after procedures; administering medications and moderate sedation in accordance with established protocols; continuously monitoring patient status and responding promptly to changes in condition. The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) collaborates closely with physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care while maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to regulatory and safety standards. The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) also provides patient and family education, documents care accurately, participates in emergency response during procedures, and contributes to quality improvement initiatives within the cardiovascular service line. The ideal Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) would have at least one year of Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) experience, two years preferred.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Austin is a full-service acute care hospital located in the Oak Hill area of southwest Austin, just off US-290 near MoPac Expressway. The campus combines inpatient services, outpatient clinics, imaging, surgery, and physician offices, making it a convenient location for patients who want multiple services in one place. It operates a 24/7 emergency department and is certified as a Primary Stroke Center, allowing it to provide rapid evaluation and treatment for stroke patients. Baylor Scott & White - Austin also features a 24-bed Main Nursing Unit which is a mixed-acuity unit with three levels of acuity and operates from a multidisciplinary approach in providing the highest standards of nursing care to patients and families.

Job Summary
The Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional. The RN uses the BSWH nursing model to coordinate patient care. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses. The RN develops and implements an individualized care plan and evaluates the patient''s response. The RN promotes safe passage for patients by using knowledge of patient needs. The RN helps patients transition through healthcare without preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to healthcare personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act. Delegation also considers each patient''s condition and the employee''s competencies.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program or (2) two years of work experience above the minimum qualification
MAJOR - Nursing
EXPERIENCE - (2) Two Years of Experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -Basic Life Support (BLS),Registered Nurse (RN)
ACLS (ACLS): Must have both Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) within (30) thirty days of hire.
