About Barberitos:


Barberitos is a fast-casual Southwestern restaurant known for fresh ingredients and bold flavor. In addition to our in-store experience, we provide high-quality catering for events across Tampa Bay. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for dependable and detail-oriented team members to join our evening prep crew.


Job Summary:


As a Catering Prep Worker, you’ll be responsible for preparing and organizing all items for next-day catering deliveries. Using a customized checklist for each invoice, you’ll accurately assemble, package, and label food, beverages, and supplies. You’ll also restock inventory and communicate nightly updates to the Director of Catering. This is a consistent evening role best suited for someone who enjoys structured, independent work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Review catering invoices and follow detailed checklists to guide each order’s preparation
  • Prep, portion, and package a variety of items, including toppings, sauces, fryer items, drinks, desserts, dry goods, and occasionally proteins
  • Label, organize, and store items to ensure readiness for the next day’s deliveries
  • Restock dry goods and packaging supplies in the designated storage areas
  • Maintain a clean and organized prep area in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Document work completed with photos and notes, and send nightly updates to the Director of Catering
  • Notify management of any inventory issues, substitutions, or concerns with order prep
  • Occasionally assist with communication to the delivery team, if needed
  • Track and record catering supply inventory
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management
What We’re Looking For:


  • Experience: Previous food prep or kitchen experience is a plus, but not required
  • Attention to Detail: Must be organized and able to follow written instructions with precision
  • Dependability: Punctual, consistent attendance, and strong communication skills are essential
  • Physical Requirements: Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
