Bilingual Breastfeeding Peer Counselor – WIC Program
LOCATION Dallas, TX 75201 | Onsite
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
• $17.82/hour
• Monday–Thursday, 9:30 AM–6:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; 1 Saturday per month, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)
• Temporary (W2)
ROLE IMPACT
This role supports WIC participants by providing breastfeeding education, encouragement, and resources that help improve maternal and infant health outcomes. Success is measured by building trust with participants, delivering accurate program information, maintaining complete documentation, and helping families access the support they need throughout their breastfeeding journey.
• Provide breastfeeding education, guidance, and peer support to pregnant and postpartum participants in English and Spanish.
• Conduct participant outreach, schedule appointments, maintain records, and document interactions accurately within program systems.
• Assist with eligibility-related processes, participant intake, and referrals to healthcare providers and community resources as appropriate.
• Respond to participant questions by phone and in person while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Support WIC clinic operations through clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
• Experience providing customer service, health education, community outreach, healthcare support, or social services preferred.

• Ability to build rapport and provide culturally sensitive support to diverse populations.
