Under the general supervision of a higher-level officer, this is highly responsible clerical work in collecting and accounting for revenue due to the Government of the Virgin Islands (GVI), in a large governmental agency. Work in this class is distinguished from that of Cashier II, this position is assigned to a large district office that is responsible for a larger variety and volume of funds, requiring much greater attention to detail and serving as the lead cashier over subordinate personnel.
Work involves final responsibility for funds from the time of collection to the time of deposit in a bank, and an employee must meet the character and reputation standards established by a bonding company.
Work is performed in accordance with the accounting manual and standard departmental regulation, procedures and practices which allow little opportunity for deviation. Job Type: Classified
