Case Services Specialist (CJS)Employment Type: Full‑time RegularPay Range: $45,760.00 – 62,306.00Location: Castle Rock, COOvertime Exempt: NDepartment: Community Justice ServicesJob OverviewCommunity Justice Services (CJS) promotes the safety, health and well‑being of Douglas County by providing superior services and programs to our community. The CJS division is composed of five programs: Pretrial Release Supervision, Pretrial Intake, In‑Home Detention, Community Service, and the Multiple Offender Program. The Case Services Specialist is the first point of contact for individuals seeking these services and plays a vital administrative and customer‑service role within the department.As part of a close‑knit team, you will provide administrative support, maintain client files, manage program fees, and assist with client intake and placement. This paraprofessional position requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of criminal‑justice processes, and a customer‑centric approach to problem resolution.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAnswer the phone and greet the public, provide accurate program information, convey messages, and help resolve problems and complaints.Utilize the State of Colorado database to record next court dates and decipher disposition information for program enrollment; maintain records on the Division's automated computer system; process invoices and purchase orders as necessary.Maintain program fees associated with Pretrial Release Supervision, In‑Home Detention, DCMOP and Community Service programs, and manage the Division's petty cash account.Interpret minute orders to set up pretrial release, DCMOP, community service and in‑home detention clients on the automated system; prepare physical files and initial paperwork for CJS Officers.Receive referrals from courts, Probation Officers and other criminal‑justice entities; interview, screen and place defendants in appropriate nonprofit agencies for community‑service hours.Monitor client performance with referral agencies and prepare written reports on compliance or non‑compliance with the Useful Public Service/Alternative Services program; assist CJS Officers with caseload‑management duties as needed.Take on additional case‑management responsibilities and resolve system‑related problems and procedures.Respond to clients and community members who request assistance in the front lobby; participate in team meetings, trainings, outside meetings and audits as scheduled.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in a related discipline preferred.Two years of criminal‑justice experience preferred; all prior administrative experience will be considered.Combination of education and experience may be considered.Bilingual in Spanish at an advanced level preferred.CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONSNotary Public certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.Successful completion of a criminal background check including fingerprinting through a national database required.BENEFITSDouglas County offers a comprehensive benefits package—including medical, dental, vision and retirement plans—and a range of additional resources to support your health, growth and overall well‑being.Closing Date: 7/17/2026 5:59 PM MST.
