As a TBRA (Tenant-Based Rental Assistance) Case Manager, you'll work directly with individuals and families who are at risk of homelessness, helping them access rental assistance, navigate the housing process, and build the skills and resources needed to maintain permanent housing.
You'll play a critical role in helping clients overcome barriers, connect with community resources, advocate with landlords, and develop personalized Housing Action Plans that support long-term success.

As a TBRA Case Manager, you will:
Screen clients and determine program eligibility
Collect and verify household income and eligibility documentation
Develop and implement individualized Housing Action Plans (HAPs)
Assist clients throughout the housing process, including housing searches, applications, utility setup, move-in coordination, and landlord communication
Support clients with budgeting, credit improvement, housing retention, and self-sufficiency goals
Utilize a progressive engagement approach to tailor services to each household's needs
Provide ongoing case management and regular client meetings
Connect clients with employment, educational, healthcare, financial, and community resources
Build collaborative relationships with landlords, service providers, and community partners
Advocate for clients and assist in resolving housing-related barriers
Prepare requests for financial assistance and submit supporting documentation for approval
Manage and track rental assistance funds
Reassess client eligibility and service needs throughout program participation
Collaborate with counselors, case workers, and community agencies to coordinate services and support successful housing outcomes
Housing case management experience required
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field preferred
Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
Passion for helping individuals and families achieve housing stability and independence
The TBRA program provides short- to mid-term rental assistance and supportive services to households earning less than 60% of Area Median Income who are at risk of homelessness. Through individualized support and housing-focused case management, you'll help clients overcome barriers, maintain housing, and build a stronger future.
