QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a social service-related field, plus one year of experience.
  • Driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Work independently as well as part of a team, strong organizational skills, knowledge of the community, and ability to advocate for youth needs.
  • This is a home-based position covering Essex, Middlesex, Somerset, Mercer, Hunterdon, Warren, and Union Counties.
  • Evenings and on-call availability required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide services to people ages 17-22 who are transitioning out of resource home/foster care, or are already living independently, and need individualized skill development and support to transition successfully into adulthood.
  • Skill development may include obtaining and maintaining safe and suitable housing, continuing their education, learning independent living skills, obtaining and maintaining employment, building a support system, and remaining free from legal involvement.
  • Specialists primarily work in the community and will have access to an agency vehicle, cell phone, and laptop.
  • Specialists will be provided with training in an evidenced based model, and are expected to adhere to this model throughout the intervention.
