The Trial Court Administrator, Sandra Barrios, oversees all administrative responsibilities of the Fourth Judicial District. This includes responsibility for facilities management; serving as a liaison between agencies, the media, and the public; and developing and carrying out policies that enhance court system performance.

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY:
Assist defendants in Ada County's Domestic Violence Court (DVC) as well as misdemeanor domestic violence cases in other counties within the judicial district with complying with court ordered services and connect said persons to community resources. Assist parties in civil protection order cases with the same. This position works under general supervision.
Essential Functions
- Maintains databases, rosters, and statistics on court-ordered services and administrative duties;
- Completes Notices of Compliance and Case Status Reports and files with the court;
- Maintains resources for the use of screeners, court personnel, Family Court Services, class participants, and the community;
- Assists defendants who are on unsupervised probation with enrolling in court ordered programs and courses such as domestic violence (DV) Intervention, Anger Management, Protective Parenting, and other parenting courses, counseling, and social integration classes;
- Assists defendants on unsupervised probation with accessing and completing DV Evaluations, Substance Abuse Evaluations, and Mental Health Evaluations;
- Follows up with unsupervised defendants to ensure they are completing the terms of their probation;
- Provides referrals to community resources for defendants in DVC and other misdemeanor DV cases as well as for parties in domestic violence civil protection order cases;
- Provides and assists with funding applications for County-funded court ordered programs;
- Assist parties in domestic violence protection order cases with enrolling in and completing court ordered parenting courses, co-parenting classes, psych evaluations, drug testing, DV Intervention, DV evaluations, parenting communication apps, reintegration therapy, counseling, and any other court ordered services.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
- May assist with forms workshop held at Ada County Victim Services Center;
- May assist the Domestic Violence Court Coordinator with community outreach and networking for DVC;
- May assist in compiling database of community resources for parties;
- Assists with language access and improving accessibility to programs;
- Be aware of and appropriately address any conflicts of interests in assisting parties in court cases.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics including characteristics of batterers, victims, and the effect of domestic violence on children;
- Knowledge of drug and alcohol issues in family dynamics;
- Knowledge of impulse and anger control problems;
- Knowledge of the impact of conflict upon children;
- Skill in interacting with difficult and high-conflict individuals;
- Skill in communicating with culturally diverse populations;
- Skill in developing trust, confidence, and cooperation of persons;
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and with compassion both verbally and in writing;
- Ability to plan and prioritize work assignments and manager short-term and long-term project timelines;
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions;
- Ability to properly interpret and make decisions in accordance with laws, regulations, and established policies and procedures;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Ability to prepare effective written and electronic correspondence on routine matters;
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationship with employees, county officials, and the public;
- Ability to assess dynamics involved with families in transition.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- This position has been designated safety sensitive and therefore the incumbent is subject to random drug testing.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions;
- May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.;
- Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.
