Amazon is building the earth"s best transportation and logistics business. Our people are builders, working tirelessly to serve customers, optimize Amazon"s global network, and enable the success of our trusted partners. Within Amazon Transportation Services (ATS), the Carrier Services team plays a key role in supporting carrier partners who transport goods for Amazon. Our team guides carriers through the application process to become an Amazon partner and resolves account-related issues for existing carrier partners. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-visibility team in one of the fastest growing programs in Amazon"s transportation portfolio.

We are seeking an analytical and results-driven professional with a background in transportation or logistics to join our team as a Carrier Procurement Account Support Specialist. In this role, you will primarily support the Amazon Freight Procurement team, owning carrier engagement across onboarding and active bid activities. You will manage complex cases, conduct outreach to carrier partners, and leverage data to drive informed decisions and propose engagement strategies that improve procurement outcomes. You will also contribute to process improvements that raise the quality and efficiency of the team"s outputs. As business needs evolve, you may have the opportunity to support other procurement teams within Carrier Services, broadening your exposure across the organization. The ideal candidate exercises sound judgment in ambiguous situations, communicates clearly with internal and external stakeholders, and takes ownership of outcomes rather than just tasks.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage carrier procurement engagement from initial outreach through bid submission, ensuring all steps in the solicitation process are completed accurately and on time
  • Lead direct outreach to carrier partners to drive bid participation, clarify procurement requirements, and resolve barriers to engagement; document outcomes and communicate findings to internal stakeholders
  • Track bid status and carrier engagement across multiple procurement campaigns, maintaining accurate documentation and providing timely updates to procurement leadership
  • Manage a high-volume carrier portfolio across concurrent procurement campaigns, making trade-offs between time and resources with limited oversight to meet sourcing deadlines
  • Leverage data from multiple sources to evaluate carrier capacity, market trends, and bid performance; surface insights and present recommendations that inform procurement strategy and award decisions
  • Propose and iterate on carrier engagement strategies to improve bid participation and conversion rates, adjusting approach based on data and observed carrier behavior
  • Escalate procurement blockers and carrier engagement risks with clear context and a recommended resolution path; propose alternative approaches when standard methods are not producing results
  • Support the onboarding and development of new team members by sharing knowledge of processes, systems, and best practices

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
