Carpenters cut, fabricate, and install wooden and other structures as specified. The position entails working on various projects to produce long-lasting and functional structures, with a good knowledge of construction tools and materials.

• Install wooden and metal structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work.
• Install cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall, and insulation
• Add fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures
• Select lumber and other materials by size and strength to suit each project, sourcing wood and other materials based on provided designs and specifications
• Calculate the number of fasteners and other hardware required for each project
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, project managers, superintendents, and other construction professionals
• Read blueprints, designs, and specifications prepared by other construction professionals, designers, inspectors, etc.
• Provide personal tools as needed to complete each project
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Proven experience as a carpenter
• Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings
• Willingness to always follow safety guidelines
• Good understanding of basic math
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Successful completion of an apprenticeship program is a plus
