Position Summary

PROVIDENCE IN-HOME CARE SERVICE is seeking dependable, compassionate, and professional Caregivers / Non-Skilled Nursing Assistants to provide non-medical personal care and companionship services to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering high-quality care, promoting client independence, and ensuring a safe and supportive living environment.

This position plays a critical role in helping clients maintain their daily routines, personal dignity, and overall quality of life through personalized care and meaningful companionship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Personal Care Assistance

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
  • Assist with mobility, ambulation, transfers, and positioning while following safety procedures.
  • Provide medication reminders in accordance with agency policies and applicable regulations.
  • Observe and report changes in clients' physical, emotional, or mental condition to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Support clients in maintaining independence while providing necessary assistance.

Companion Care Services

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Engage clients in conversation, recreational activities, and social interaction.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and community activities when authorized.
  • Encourage participation in activities that support emotional and mental well-being.

Household Assistance

  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, dishwashing, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining a clean living environment.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning when appropriate.
  • Assist with grocery shopping and other essential household errands.
  • Maintain a safe and organized home environment.

Safety and Client Advocacy

  • Monitor clients for safety concerns and potential risks.
  • Report accidents, incidents, injuries, or unusual observations immediately.
  • Follow individualized care plans and service instructions.
  • Respect and protect client rights, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain compliance with agency policies and applicable state and federal regulations.

Documentation and Communication

  • Complete required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors, clients, family members, and healthcare professionals as appropriate.
  • Attend required meetings, training sessions, and continuing education programs.
  • Document services provided and client status according to agency standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Ability to pass all required background screenings and employment verifications.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Caregiver, Personal Care Aide (PCA), Home Health Aide (HHA), Direct Support Professional (DSP), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, dementia clients, or individuals requiring personal care assistance.

Work Environment

Care services are provided in clients' homes throughout Montgomery County and surrounding service areas. Employees may work with seniors, individuals with disabilities, and clients requiring varying levels of personal assistance. Schedules may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on client needs.
