Position: CareFlight Safety Coordinator

Department: CareFlight Air & Mobile Services

Facility: Miami Valley Hospital

Shift: Full-time Days 8:00am-5:00pm/ 80 Hours Per Pay

The CareFlight Safety Coordinator supports the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a comprehensive safety management program for CareFlight Air & Mobile Services. This role focuses on identifying and mitigating operational risks, monitoring regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong culture of safety across clinical, aviation, communications, and transportation environments. Working collaboratively with program leadership, vendor leadership, hospital safety officers, and risk management partners, the Safety Coordinator assists with audits, investigations, policy development and safety education initiatives. The position plays a key role in ensuring safety practices align with best practice standards and organizational priorities while supporting safe, reliable patient care operations.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree

Additional requirements:

  • Type of degree: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree

  • Area of study or major: N/A

  • Preferred educational qualifications: Certifications in HEMS, aviation, safety and/or emergency management are encouraged

  • Position specific testing requirement: N/A

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Required to obtain safety training certification within 2 years of hire

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 3 - 5 years of job related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: 3 years of experience with CareFlight Air & Mobile Services or another HEMS/HAA program
