The Career and Technical Education Counselor is responsible for advising students on schedules, career goals, certifications, and post-secondary opportunities.
They serve as a liaison with school counselors, coordinate student enrollment, monitor progress, and facilitate dual credit and articulation agreements with post-secondary institutions.
The role involves recruiting students, developing informational materials, and collaborating on accommodations for students with IEP/504 plans.
Additional duties include proctoring testing, overseeing CTE reports, participating in professional development, and maintaining communication with students, parents, and industry partners.
Minimum qualifications include valid Missouri DESE certification, a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), teaching or counseling experience, strong computer skills, and a valid driver’s license.
The position is a ten-month contract requiring physical activity and mental coordination, with adherence to equal opportunity employment laws.
