JOB SUMMARY

The Career Pathway Support Network Consultant will support the implementation and advancement of the Northeast Ohio Career Pathway Support Network (NEO CPSN), a regional system designed to strengthen career-connected learning and expand high-quality pathways from education to employment for students across Northeast Ohio.

This position will provide technical assistance, professional learning, consultation, and implementation support to school districts, career-technical planning districts, educational service centers, postsecondary institutions, and other regional partners. The Consultant will also support the coordination and implementation of regional and state priorities related to career pathways, career and technical education, career advising, work-based learning, and workforce and industry alignment.

The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of Ohio''s college and career readiness and career-technical education systems and will be able to translate state policies, frameworks, and initiatives into practical strategies for schools and regional partners. This position requires the ability to work across organizations and systems, facilitate collaborative work, manage multiple initiatives, and help partners move from planning to implementation.

The Consultant will serve as a key member of the Northeast Ohio Career Pathway Support Network team and will work collaboratively with regional and local partners to increase access to high-quality career pathways and career-connected learning opportunities for students throughout Northeast Ohio.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master''s degree in education, curriculum and instruction, educational administration, career and technical education, workforce development, or an appropriate related field; or evidence of equivalent experience.

• Minimum of five years of successful experience in education, career and technical education, college and career readiness, workforce development, educational leadership, or a related field.

• Experience providing technical assistance, consultation, professional learning, coaching, or implementation support to schools, districts, educational organizations, or regional partners.

• Strong knowledge of Ohio''s college and career readiness, career and technical education, and workforce development landscape.

• Knowledge and/or experience with key career pathway strategies and initiatives, including:

• Industry-Recognized Credentials;

• CTE-26 program and pathway development;

• Ohio''s Career-Connected Learning Framework;

• career advising and graduation pathways;

• work-based learning;

• pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship pathways;

• career-technical education;

• secondary-to-postsecondary transitions;

• dual enrollment and articulated pathways;

• business and industry engagement; and

• other state and regional career pathway priorities.

• Experience developing or supporting career pathways and programs that connect K12 education, career-technical education, postsecondary education, workforce development, and business and industry.

• Experience building and sustaining partnerships among school districts, educational service centers, career-technical planning districts, colleges and universities, workforce organizations, businesses, industry partners, and community organizations.

• Experience facilitating collaborative teams, professional learning communities, workgroups, or cross-sector partnerships.

• Ability to understand state requirements and initiatives and translate them into practical guidance, tools, and implementation strategies for local and regional partners.

• Strong organizational and project coordination skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, partners, and deliverables.

• Demonstrated ability to use data to identify needs, support decision-making, monitor implementation, and inform continuous improvement.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative regional team.

• Demonstrated flexibility, initiative, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn.

• Ability to effectively use technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, data and project management tools, artificial intelligence tools and resources, and other emerging technologies.

• Valid Ohio Department of Education and Workforce certificate or license, when applicable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Technical Assistance and District Support

• Provide high-quality technical assistance, consultation, professional learning, and implementation support to school districts, career-technical planning districts, educational service centers, and other partners related to career pathways and career-connected learning.
• Support districts and partners in understanding and implementing Ohio''s career pathway and college and career readiness priorities, requirements, frameworks, and opportunities.
• Provide technical assistance related to Industry-Recognized Credentials, CTE-26 pathway development, career advising, work-based learning, pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships, graduation pathways, career-connected learning, and other related initiatives.
• Assist districts and partners in identifying, developing, expanding, and strengthening high-quality career pathways responsive to student needs and regional workforce opportunities.
• Help school and district teams identify barriers to student participation in career pathways and develop strategies to increase access, participation, completion, and successful transitions.
• Support the development and implementation of career-connected learning opportunities across the K12 continuum.
• Connect districts and partners with appropriate state, regional, and local resources, expertise, programs, and technical assistance.

Northeast Ohio Career Pathway Support Network

• Support the implementation of the Northeast Ohio Career Pathway Support Network''s regional goals, strategies, action plans, and deliverables.
• Work collaboratively with NEO CPSN leadership, regional Career Consultants, partner educational service centers, cluster partners, and other stakeholders to coordinate and advance regional priorities.
• Assist in coordinating projects, initiatives, workgroups, professional learning, and technical assistance activities across the Northeast Ohio region.
• Support alignment among regional, cluster, and local career pathway priorities while recognizing and responding to the unique needs of communities and partners.
• Help develop tools, resources, guidance, communication materials, and implementation supports that can be used across the region.
• Identify common needs, emerging challenges, promising practices, and opportunities for collaboration and shared solutions across districts and regional partners.
• Support the collection, organization, analysis, and use of data to inform regional planning, measure progress, identify gaps, and support continuous improvement.
• Assist with monitoring progress toward state and regional goals, deliverables, and performance measures.
• Support communication and coordination of changes in state and regional career pathway policies, programs, funding opportunities, and initiatives.

Career Pathway Development and Systems Alignment

• Support the development of coherent career pathways that connect K12 education, career and technical education, postsecondary education, workforce development, and employment.
• Facilitate collaboration among school districts, CTPDs, educational service centers, colleges and universities, workforce development organizations, businesses, industry partners, and community organizations.
• Support partners in aligning career pathway programming with regional workforce needs and opportunities while maintaining a strong focus on student interests, access, and success.
• Assist partners in strengthening transitions between middle school, high school, career-technical education, postsecondary education, credential attainment, and employment.
• Support the development and expansion of work-based learning, pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, mentorship, internship, job shadowing, and other career-connected learning opportunities.
• Help identify opportunities to leverage existing programs, partnerships, funding, and resources to expand and sustain career pathway opportunities.
• Promote collaboration and reduce unnecessary duplication by helping partners identify opportunities for shared strategies, resources, and regional solutions.

Partnership Development and Facilitation

• Build and maintain strong relationships with districts, CTPDs, educational service centers, postsecondary institutions, workforce partners, businesses and industry, state agencies, and community organizations.
• Facilitate meetings, workgroups, professional learning, planning sessions, and collaborative problem-solving processes.
• Support the engagement of business and industry partners in the development and implementation of career pathways and career-connected learning opportunities.
• Represent the ESC of Northeast Ohio and the Northeast Ohio Career Pathway Support Network in regional and statewide meetings, networks, and initiatives, as assigned.
• Foster a collaborative, responsive, and service-oriented approach to working with partners throughout the region.

Professional Learning and Resource Development

• Design and facilitate professional learning, technical assistance, communities of practice, and other learning opportunities related to career pathways and career-connected learning.
• Develop and curate practical resources, tools, guidance, and exemplars to support implementation by districts and partners.
• Stay current on emerging research, legislation, state guidance, funding opportunities, promising practices, and innovations related to career pathways, career and technical education, workforce development, and career-connected learning.
• Share emerging practices and successful models across districts, clusters, and the Northeast Ohio region.

Additional Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ESCNEO staff and departments to connect career pathway work with broader regional initiatives and supports.
• Utilize technology, data systems, project management tools, and artificial intelligence resources to improve efficiency, communication, and service delivery.
• Participate in ongoing professional learning and continuous improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and priorities of the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio and the Northeast Ohio Career Pathway Support Network.
