    Job Title: Career Coach (Mason/Grays Harbor)
    Location: Based in Shelton, WA with regular travel to adjacent Grays Harbor and/or Pacific Counties
    Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time (Day Shift, In-Person)
    Compensation: $62,000 Starting Annual Salary

    Position Summary

    America Works of Washington, Inc., a socially conscious organization committed to helping individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency, is seeking a Career Coach to provide participant-centered career guidance, case management, and employment services within a workforce development program serving Mason and Pacific Counties, WA.

    The Career Coach supports participants in identifying career goals, developing individualized career pathway plans, accessing training and work-based learning opportunities, securing employment, and advancing toward long-term economic stability.

    Working as part of the Career Success Team, the Career Coach collaborates with Eligibility Specialists, Financial Coaches, Industry Talent Partners, employers, training providers, and community partners to provide coordinated support and help participants overcome barriers to employment.

    The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working directly with people, building relationships, providing guidance, and supporting individuals on their path toward employment success. Experience in customer care, coaching, education, workforce development, social services, or other people-focused roles is valued.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Participant Support & Career Coaching

    Recruit, engage, and support participants throughout their workforce development journey.

    Conduct assessments to understand participant goals, skills, interests, barriers, and service needs.

    Develop and maintain individualized career pathway plans with measurable goals and action steps.

    Provide ongoing coaching, encouragement, and follow-up to support participant progress.

    Assist participants with career exploration, training opportunities, work-based learning, and employment goals.

    Case Management & Service Coordination

    Provide participant-centered case management and coordinate services across the Career Success Team.

    Connect participants with training providers, employers, community resources, supportive services, and financial coaching.

    Collaborate with Eligibility Specialists and team members to ensure accurate documentation and coordinated service delivery.

    Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and problem-solving activities.

    Employment & Career Advancement

    Support participants with resume development, interview preparation, job search strategies, and workplace readiness.

    Connect participants with employment opportunities aligned with career pathways and regional workforce needs.

    Provide follow-up coaching to support job retention, workplace success, and career advancement.

    Track participant progress, employment outcomes, retention, and other required performance measures.

    Documentation & Compliance

    Maintain accurate participant records, case notes, and documentation in required systems.

    Complete timely data entry and ensure records meet program and quality requirements.

    Follow program policies, WIOA requirements, confidentiality standards, and contract expectations.

    Community & Team Collaboration

    Build positive relationships with employers, training providers, community organizations, and workforce partners.

    Represent the organization professionally at meetings, recruitment events, and partner activities.

    Contribute to a team culture focused on participant success and continuous improvement.

    Qualifications

    Associate or bachelor's degree in human services, social work, workforce development, counseling, education, business, public administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.

    Experience working with people in customer service, coaching, education, workforce development, social services, or similar roles.

    Experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and assisting people in navigating barriers to employment preferred.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills.

    Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, maintain accurate documentation, and adapt to changing tasks and priorities.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

    Familiarity with CRM software, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, or similar systems preferred.

    Experience with case management, employment services, workforce programs, or publicly funded programs such as WIOA preferred.

    Experience supporting occupational training, work-based learning, employer engagement, or career pathway programs preferred.

    Bilingual or multilingual communication skills preferred.

    Ability to work in person at the assigned service location and travel locally as needed.
