JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Career-Based Consultant fosters student career pathway engagement and supports regional economic and workforce development needs through the following:
- Guide and assist consortium schools in designing and implementing robust Youth Apprenticeship programs that align with current industry demands and educational best practices.
- Support the integration of career pathways into high school curricula, ensuring students have clear routes to further education and employment.
- Facilitate strong partnerships between schools, businesses, industry leaders, and community organizations to create diverse and meaningful apprenticeship opportunities.
- Promote student awareness and participation in youth apprenticeship programs, providing guidance and resources to ensure successful student outcomes.
- Ensure apprenticeship programs contribute directly to the skills needs of the regional economy and address workforce shortages.
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to monitor program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Support schools and educators with implementation of new career pathway programs such as curriculum updates, industry recognized credentials, industry aligned technology implementation, etc.
- Support students with academic and career planning, career pathway exploration, and professional skill development in a virtual and in-person setting
- Stay current on trends in youth apprenticeship, career readiness, and workforce development to inform program design and delivery.
- Establish and maintain effective communication systems with colleagues, partners, districts, and administration to ensure seamless operations and successful service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Adhere to ethical standards and professional conduct.
- Stay informed about the Agency's products and services, identifying opportunities to connect members and clients with appropriate solutions.
- Travel to multiple locations in the completion of work duties. Reliable personal transportation is necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in education, business, workforce development or a related field preferred.
- Three to five years of experience supporting high school-age students and/or business partnership development preferred.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Knowledge of youth apprenticeship models, career pathways, and workforce development initiatives.
- Proficiency in using data to inform decision-making and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a passion for student success and regional economic growth.
- Proficiency with technology and a willingness to learn new software. Experience with digital platforms, including Google Workspace and AI tools, is a plus.
- Agile, demonstrating a growth mindset by leveraging flexibility, resilience, and change.
- Highly collaborative, working with others to achieve a common goal in a way that promotes representation and participation by all.
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communicator who expresses ideas and information with clarity and respect aligned to an intended audience and purpose.
- Thinks critically to analyze multiple perspectives, contexts, and data to creatively question, make connections, and evaluate options leading to reasonable conclusions with on-going reflection for future improvements.
- Empathetically engages with others to understand and recognize their perspectives, experiences, and emotions.

- Current Driver's License.
