QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred

  • 1–3 years of experience in a related healthcare, patient support, customer service, or call center environment.
  • Experience working with patient assistance programs, healthcare providers, or insurance reimbursement services.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer coverage policies and guidelines.
  • Understanding of Diagnostic Medical Expense and Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) practices.
  • Familiarity with medical, supplemental, and pharmacy insurance benefit structures.
  • Experience handling sensitive patient information while maintaining confidentiality and compliance standards.

 

 

 

Training and Work Schedule

New hire training is conducted Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST.
Mandatory camera-on attendance is required during training.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).
Employees must maintain flexibility to support business and operational needs.

The Senior Coordinator, Patient Access (Care Coordinator) serves as a critical point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and referral sources. This role is responsible for managing patient access processes, providing exceptional customer support, resolving complex inquiries, and ensuring patients receive timely assistance throughout their treatment journey. The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English, highly organized, empathetic, and experienced in healthcare, insurance, or customer service environments.

 


Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound and outbound calls while assessing needs and providing first-call resolution whenever possible.
  • Report adverse events within required timelines and according to established procedures.
  • Create, process, and maintain accurate referrals, applications, and patient records.
  • Stay informed of policy, procedural, and regulatory changes impacting patient support services.
  • Investigate and resolve patient, caregiver, physician, and provider inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Accurately enter and maintain detailed information in proprietary software systems while actively engaging with callers.
  • Conduct outbound calls for patient follow-ups, status updates, and confirmations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and patient support through every interaction.
  • Collaborate with referral sources to process new patient applications.
  • Manage patient accounts throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial contact through final approval or denial.
  • Prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining urgency and accuracy.
  • Provide an empathetic, supportive patient experience through effective communication, education, and guidance.
  • Apply advanced problem-solving skills to resolve complex patient access and reimbursement challenges.
