The Non-Clinical OccMed Care Coordinator serves as a key liaison in the coordination of patient cases within the workers' compensation process. This role ensures accurate review of medical documentation, alignment of treatments with authorized care plans, and effective communication with providers, employers, and internal stakeholders to support high-quality, compliant care delivery.
Review provider transcripts and medical documentation to ensure treatments align with authorized care plans
Identify discrepancies, missing information, or additional treatments within records
Communicate with providers to clarify documentation and verify treatment accuracy
Maintain and verify Occupational Medicine data within the EMR system
Manage and document workers' compensation claims and referrals in the EMR system
Provide required work status reports to employers and insurance carriers in compliance with state regulations
Communicate with employers, adjusters, and nurse case managers regarding:
Work restrictions
Missing documentation
Denials and claim updates
Serve as a liaison between patients, employers, providers, and insurance companies
Provide timely responses to employer and patient inquiries, including medical record requests
Support appointment reminders and communicate missed appointment details as needed
Build strong relationships with employer clients to resolve concerns and ensure satisfaction
Audit charges to ensure accurate billing and clean claim submission
Identify and resolve missing codes or documentation issues
Collaborate with internal teams to support drug screen reporting and employer account setup
Assist OccMed Sales Team with establishing and maintaining employer protocols in the EMR system
Maintain daily communication with OccMed team members and leadership
Participate in staff meetings, audits, and process improvement initiatives
Support coordinated care efforts across clinics, patients, and employers
Ensure adherence to company policies, including HIPAA and compliance program standards
Follow OSHA and workplace safety protocols
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and business information
Adhere to company Code of Conduct, mission, and values
High School Diploma required
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Occupational Medicine or related business experience required
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and interpret medical documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
