Position Overview: As a Cardiovascular Technologist with Vascular Interventional Radiography at our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular and vascular diseases. Your expertise will be essential in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our team of healthcare professionals. Shift or schedule requirements. Call is required for IR, the team consists of 1 provider, 1 nurse, 1 Scrub Rad Tech, 1 Circulator 10 hour or 8 hour shifts, starting from 630-530, with call. Every 3-4th weekend (Friday 1730- Monday 0700) Up to 3 call shifts during the week (1730-0700) Key Responsibilities: Vascular Interventional Radiography: Perform a wide range of vascular interventional radiography procedures including angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, and thrombolysis under the guidance of a radiologist. Cardiovascular Imaging: Assist in cardiovascular imaging procedures such as echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety. Patient Care: Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and provide emotional support to alleviate anxiety. Monitor patients during procedures and respond promptly to any complications or changes in their condition. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment, including angiography machines, fluoroscopy units, and ultrasound devices, ensuring their proper functionality and cleanliness. Radiation Safety: Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and yourself. Monitor radiation doses and maintain accurate records. Documentation: Accurately document patient information, procedure details, and any complications in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and ensure smooth workflow in the catheterization and radiology labs. Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiovascular technology and vascular interventional radiography by attending training sessions, conferences, and workshops. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance initiatives to maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and departmental efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field (or equivalent). Certified Cardiovascular Technologist (CCT) credential or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification. State licensure or certification in radiologic technology. Proficiency in vascular interventional radiography techniques and equipment. Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and pathology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
