Cardiovascular Technician

Summary: Performs direct patient care electrocardiograms (ECGs), stress testing, and cardiac monitors. Reviews providers orders and performs ancillary tests. Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patients understanding and cooperation.

Responsibilities:

• Reviews providers orders and performs ancillary tests • Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams • Performs responsibilities of underlying jobs and assists precepting new hires and/or student interns • Prepares equipment and supplies, positions patients, and analyzes results • Identifies issues with quality of tracings, including re-positioning patients and repeating procedures • Monitors patient condition and reports on or responds to changes in status and adverse results as appropriate • Maintains equipment in clean working condition and troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary

Requirements:

• Certified Cardiographic Tech • Certified EKG Technician (NCET) • Certified EKG Technician (CET) or Certified EKG Technician (CEKG) by National Health Career Association (NHA) or National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification • 1 year of relevant experience • BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with a card in-hand before start date
