Responsibilities

The EP Lab CVT, under the direction of the director/charge person, monitors procedures, assists physician in a scrub-assistant role, and circulates to include all diagnostic EP and cardiac ablations procedures, device implants and explants, cardiac cath procedures to ensure safe patient care. This is a prn day shift position.

Qualifications

Education: Associates Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy

In Lieu of education requirements, a minimum of five (5) years' experience and:

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire)
• Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (Required within 12 months of hire)

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred)
• If no ARRT, then one of the following licenses or certifications:
• FL Certified Radiologic Technologist license
• FL Registered Respiratory Therapist license
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification
• Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification
• Any of the four license/certifications above within 12 months of hire if no degree in the applicable fields

Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Minimum 1 year recent experience in Cardiac Cath lab or EP lab.
• For less than 1 year EP experience, must have graduated from an accredited academic program with a dedicated EP curriculum and successful completion of EP clinical rotations.
• Must have a strong knowledge base in:
• Electrocardiograms
• Rhythm analysis
• Sterile technique
• Cardiac anatomy
• Hemodynamics
• Radiation protection
