Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS (AHA), Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience certification preferred, EKG reading proficiency
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience, previous travel experience preferred, strong knowledge of cardiac surgeries such as CABG and valves
  • Other Requirements: Ability to interpret EKG strips, excellent critical thinking skills, strong confidence in CVOR skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, flexibility to cover varied shifts including call

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac surgeries such as CABG and valves in a fast-paced CVOR environment.
  • Interpret and respond to EKG strips and other cardiac monitoring data to ensure patient stability and safety during procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other OR team members to facilitate smooth surgical operations and efficient case flow.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, surgical procedures, and intraoperative events in Cerner and other electronic charting systems.
  • Assist in preparing and scrubbing for cardiac surgeries, ensuring sterile field setup and compliance with hospital protocols.
