Job Title: Pulmonary Function Technician

Job Summary:

Performs pulmonary function studies.

Job Description:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepares and calibrates PFT equipment. • Collects test samples, performs initial test analysis, and advises staff on findings. • Performs tests according to the American Thoracic Society Guidelines. • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. • Assists in process billing, data entry/maintenance, and lab equipment care/maintenance.

Working Conditions:

• Job Location/Working Conditions: Normal office environment. • Requires extensive safety training. • Exposure to blood-borne pathogens. • Exposure to chemicals. • Requires protective devices. • Patient care setting: Direct patient care setting.

Physical Effort:

• Typically sitting at desk or table. • Repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement (PC Typing). • Occasional lifting (25 lbs. or less).

Equipment:

• Office equipment. • Clinical/diagnostic equipment.

Required Qualifications:
