Cardiac monitor technicians or telemetry technicians monitor multiple patients heart activity and interpret heart rhythms from a central monitoring center covering multiple acute care locations. They play a vital role in the lives of cardiac patients and are a critical member of the health care team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Role Summary

For applicable NC Division facility patients, observes telemetry monitors continuously, recognizes and documents rhythm tracings, and also continuously monitors Cerner Patient Observer CPO" recognizes patient movement and proactively alerts nurses and other care givers in an effort to prevent adverse events, including patient falls, patient elopement, patient safety, and visitor monitoring.

Qualifications

• Required Education: High School diploma or GED completion of dysrhythmia course. Comparable experience and skills also considered. • Required Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare environment.
