Overview
Advantage Capital's Capital Markets team executes transactions with institutional investors across all of the firm's tax credit platforms, including energy, affordable housing, New Markets Tax Credits, and state-level incentive programs.
The focus of this role is the syndication of all Advantage tax credits, supporting the execution of large-scale institutional transactions with banks, insurance companies, and other sophisticated investors.
Analysts are embedded in live deal execution and work closely with senior team members on investor-facing workstreams and transaction processes. The team collectively executes $1 billion+ of tax credit placements annually, including individual transactions that can exceed $200 million.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution of syndication transactions from initial analysis through close
- Review and interpret project-level financial models and underwriting materials
- Prepare polished investor-facing presentations, deal summaries, and transaction materials
- Assist with pricing analysis, investor allocation, and closing processes on complex transactions
- Conduct targeted research on institutional investors and capital markets activity
- Support ongoing investor relationships and external communications
Candidate Profile
This role is intended for a high-performing graduating senior or early-career finance professional (approximately 1-2 years out of undergrad) who demonstrates strong analytical ability, professionalism, and sound judgment. A 3.5 grade point average is required.
Strong Candidates Typically Have
- High academic achievement from a rigorous undergraduate program
- For non-graduating seniors, experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, project finance, infrastructure, or related analytical roles
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; comfort working with financial models
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present professionally to external stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills: PowerPoint proficiency required
