Join the Broadmead Team as a Campus Safety Specialist-Full Time

Salary Range: $19.24/hr-$26/hr (based on exp)

Position Summary

The Campus Safety Specialist is responsible for routine emergency maintenance throughout the Community Center, residential clusters, and grounds. This role monitors mechanical systems, responds to emergencies, patrols the campus, and helps ensure the safety and security of residents, visitors, employees, and facilities.

What You'll Do

Security & Safety

  • Maintain a secure environment throughout Broadmead's campus.
  • Conduct mobile patrols of interior and exterior community areas.
  • Investigate suspicious persons, vehicles, and unusual activity.
  • Monitor access points and secure designated areas.
  • Maintain security presence during shift changes.
  • Respond to fire alarms and emergency situations.
  • Escort nursing staff during emergency calls.
  • Guide emergency responders, ambulances, and other emergency vehicles to appropriate locations.

Maintenance & Operations

  • Perform routine after-hours and weekend emergency maintenance.
  • Monitor, inspect, and log mechanical equipment operations.
  • Respond to mechanical alerts and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Ensure proper exterior lighting throughout the community.
  • Report snow and weather-related emergencies.
  • Open and secure facilities as required.

Documentation & Communication

  • Maintain accurate daily logs and operational records.
  • Prepare incident reports and required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding maintenance, safety, and security concerns.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Class C Driver's License without restrictions.
  • Minimum of three years of security experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of security operations.
  • General knowledge of physical plant operations and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work overtime and be on-call as needed to support coverage across all shifts.

  • Ability to interact professionally and tactfully with residents, staff, visitors, vendors, and the public.
  • Strong observation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
