Primary Purpose:
Supervise and manage school library media center facilities and programs for one or multiple campuses in the district. Engage learners using print and digital resources to access, create and share content as well as collaborate with other learners as global citizens. Collaborate with teachers to design engaging learning experiences to integrate digital citizenship and information literacy skills into instruction. Serve as an instructional and technological leader on campus.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Master's degree in library and information science from accredited college or university (for individuals certified after January 23, 2001)
- Valid Texas librarian or learning resources specialist certificate or endorsement
- 12 semester hours related to the basic competencies
- Google Education level 1 and 2 certifications or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire date
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of current library information science best practices
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with effective technology integration
- 2+ years successful teaching experience in the classroom or library
- Proficiency in engaging learners in a variety of instructional strategies
