PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To provide ongoing support as the Campus Facilities Manager is responsible for managing all maintenance operations at Covenant House Georgia (CHG), including maintaining the building, grounds and physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection. Accountable for managing any related budgets, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation. Responsible for maintaining regulatory requirements. Leads the emergency response team for all facility issues across 7.2 acres; 4 building residential campus. The role accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by CHGA’s mission, vision and values. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Covenant House Georgia reserves the right to unilaterally modify, remove, or add to any of the following:

  • Ensure operational integrity of and repair for four buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and energy systems across all facilities.
  • Design and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Maintain compliance with building codes and health, fire, and safety regulations through proactive inspections.
  • Partner in emergency response planning, including evacuation procedures and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Oversee renovation, maintenance, and capital improvement projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution.
  • Broker & manage external contractors and vendors, ensuring quality standards, regulatory compliance and completion of outsourced work. 
  • Procure cost-effective materials and tools.
  • Act as primary liaison between agency leadership and facilities operations, aligning maintenance with strategic goals.
  • Manage annual maintenance budgets and supported capital planning; oversaw procurement and purchasing processes.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance plan for all systems and equipment.
  • Direct the facilities team and housekeeping staff, aligning performance with departmental goals and property standards.
  • Oversee maintenance, registration, and compliance of organizational fleet vehicles.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to uphold operational and safety standards.
  • Occasional emergency responses outside of regular hours may be required.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Vocational school or Bachelor’s Degree in facility management or business administration preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible work in facility management or operations
  • Minimum of five years supervisory and leadership experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required including non-traditional hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work standing, walking, and/or sitting a minimum of eight hours per day/shift.
  • Ability to drive agency or personal vehicles to transport items and/or persons.
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel as needed for training or to fulfill job requirements.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor.
  • Comfortable with climbing, kneeling, bending, and working in confined or elevated areas.
  • Performs all duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY DUTIES: This position supervises the Facilities Department, which includes Maintenance, Housekeeping and contractors.

 

SKILLS: Must be a self-starter, highly organized, disciplined, goal/solution oriented and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain order and exercise appropriate judgement in crisis situations Excellent communication skills as demonstrated by concise, timely and professional correspondence, both written and verbal. General knowledge of facilities management, building maintenance/repairs, and contract negotiations. Ability to hand multiple complex projects simultaneously with focus on results.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office word, excel, outlook, and internet-based programs.
