Primary Purpose To lead and support high-quality academic and functional life-skills instruction through intentional coaching consultation and professional learning in person or virtual while building educator capacity in instruction behavior and social-skill development for students receiving special education services. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Qualifications Education

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certification
  • Valid Special Education certification

Special Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Knowledge of qualifying disabilities and special education programs in CCISD
  • Knowledge of statewide assessment
  • Knowledge of transition future planning and work-based learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Expertise in behavior-management principles and evidence-based strategies that support student behavior and functional life skills
  • Familiarity with crisis prevention and intervention techniques

Experience

  • 3 years of successful teaching experience
  • Experience working with diverse student populations preferred
  • Experience in leadership roles at the campus or district level, including responsibilities such as coaching staff, leading teams or initiatives, and providing support to educators

Major Responsibilities and Duties Support vertically aligned instructional practices that intentionally target prerequisite skill development across grade levels for students K-18.

  • Provide coaching and consultation to campus administrators, teachers, and staff who work with diverse learners.
  • Consult with teachers and staff on individualized learning strategies that address educational and functional needs.
  • Consult with teachers and staff on person-centered transition and post-secondary goals and objectives.
  • Advise campus teams in decision-making regarding Extended School Year (ESY) services for eligible students.
  • Support classrooms with the integration of assistive technology.
  • Consult with case managers in the development of Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) to ensure alignment with student instructional and behavioral needs.
  • Consult with campus staff on ARD meeting preparation and support.
  • Meet with teachers and PLCs to support the planning and delivery of instruction, modeling research-based interventions for staff when appropriate.
  • Provide instructional materials and exemplar lessons for effective teaching and learning strategies, classroom designs, technology integration, and differentiated instruction.

Data Analysis and Progress Monitoring

  • Routinely review data to ensure appropriate services and supports are provided to students.
  • Collaborate with campus and district personnel to review and analyze student data to guide appropriate placement and program recommendations.

Professional Development and Support

  • Maintain documentation of campus coaching support and professional learning.
  • Participate in department and district professional learning opportunities for staff and families.
  • Design and deliver professional development for campuses and district staff.

  • Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
